Persib Bandung’s Comeback Wins Highlight Champion Mentality

Persib Bandung has repeatedly proven its resilience this season, showcasing a never-give-up attitude that’s become the hallmark of a champion. One of the most memorable examples was their dramatic comeback against Bali United in Week 29 of the 2024–2025 Liga 1 season, where they overturned a deficit to secure a 2-1 victory.
This season, Persib has consistently avoided defeat, even after falling behind on the scoreboard. Their mental strength and fighting spirit have been crucial factors in their performance, positioning them as one of the league’s toughest teams. Across 29 matches in the current Liga 1 campaign, Persib has suffered only two losses — against Dewa United (0-2) and Persebaya Surabaya (1-4) — a statistic that underlines their dominance and consistency.
Head coach Bojan Hodak credits the team’s mental fortitude and strong character as core elements of their success. According to him, Persib’s refusal to surrender even after conceding first has become a part of the club’s DNA.
“This isn’t the first time we’ve staged a comeback. It shows the team has real character,” said Hodak. “This didn’t just start this year — and that’s why we’re at the top.”
Throughout the 2024–2025 season, Persib has pulled off at least five comeback results, either equalizing after falling behind or turning matches around to claim victory.
Here are some of Persib Bandung’s notable comebacks this season:
- Persib Bandung vs Bali United – 2-1 (April 18, 2025)
After trailing early in the game, Persib rallied to snatch a critical home win over Bali United in the 29th round. - Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung – 2-2 (February 16, 2025)
In one of Indonesia’s fiercest rivalries, Persib bounced back from a two-goal deficit to secure a draw in Jakarta.
These matches not only highlight the club’s technical prowess but also underline a deep-rooted champion’s mentality — one that refuses to accept defeat until the final whistle. With this kind of spirit, Persib Bandung continues to be a serious title contender in Liga 1.
